The name itself refers to the characteristic surface finish of the sheets of slate from which it draws its inspiration, achieved and enhanced by the craftsmanship of the quarry workers who cut the blocks directly in the quarry. The result is a compact surface with a silky-smooth feel, which retains all the beauty of the natural material that inspires it.
